Dear Mike,
The best authorities regarding the appraisal of tapas are the curators at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu, Hawaii. Your tapa sounds like a fragment piece, which may not have as much worth as the entire tapa. Of course, age and condition are very important. Tapas without rips, runs tears, holes and stains are worth more. The best way to store your tapa to roll it on cylindrical cardboard, which has been covered in acid-free paper. Keep it away from the sun, preferably in a climate controlled area. Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
